At HK Express, communication and transparency are very important to us. That’s why we’ve created this page – to ensure you have accurate and up-to-date details about our fares and rules. HK Express can offer the lowest fares because we don’t include what you don’t need in the price; we only charge for the products and services you request. The chart below outlines what you can and cannot do with our fares.

Terms of Transaction relating to cancellation, refund or change

Date/Time Change

A change fee of HKD 580 will be charged for every change on a per customer and per segment basis. Fare differences may apply to the whole booking; there will not be any refunds for lower fares. Changes can be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled flight departure. If you wish to change your flight, the selected seat(s) on the original flight will not be transferred to the new flight and will be forfeited with no refund.

Name Change via GDS or Agency bookings

Before tickets issuance - Not permitted to make name change before tickets issuance. Any name correction for the same person will need to be as a new, separate booking.

After tickets issuance - Once tickets are issued, name correction is permitted. Please contact our call center for any changes for the same person, and a change fee of HKD 350 will be charged for minor name corrections on a per customer per booking basis.

Name Correction

A change fee of HK$350 per Customer will be charged for minor name corrections for each booking. Corrections due to typos are limited to a maximum of 3 letters.

Cancellations/Refunds

While all HK Express’ base fares are non-refundable, the Hong Kong International Airport Departure Tax, Passenger Security Charge and the Airport Construction Fee may be refunded upon request. Departure taxes will be refunded subject to local regulations. Please click link for refund application. All applications are subject to approval and an approximate 6 to 8 weeks from the date of receiving the application is required.

In accordance with Article 19 of the Taiwan Consumer Protection Act, 7-day refund policy does not apply to bookings made with an international airline company.

Late check-in / Failure to board aircraft on time

Checking-in late for a flight, or failing to board the aircraft on time will result in a cancellation of a reservation.

Infant Fee

Infants less than 2 years old will incur a fee of HKD280 on a per customer per segment basis if held in an adults lap. Infants occupying a seat and children 2 and above will be charged the child fare. To book a dedicated seat for your infant, please contact our call center.

No Shows

If for any reason you miss the first sector of a return flight, your return sector is still valid. No refund will be given for the first sector.

ACF (Airport Construction Fee)

This is an Airport Authority imposed fee regarding third runway construction at Hong Kong International Airport. Subject to Hong Kong regulations, this fee is refundable upon request if a Customer did not depart from Hong Kong International Airport.

Base seat

Base seat is the cost of your flight ticket before the cost of completing the reservation

Fare

This is your Total Regulatory Approved Fare but is before any Government imposed taxes, fees or charges.

Reservation admin

The cost of your reservation is detailed here. This varies depending upon the choice of booking channel. If you book through hkexpress.com you are paying the lowest possible cost for your reservation.

Variance to average fuel burn

This is part of your flight fare and takes into consideration changes in the cost of fuel which directly impacts your total fare. It is not refundable and is shown in order to provide additional transparency.
